Photos Taken with OnePlus 2 & Edited In Adobe Lightroom
For too long I was walking around with a broken Galaxy S4 that had a terribly shattered screen in my pocket. At the end of 2015 I decided it was time to get a new cell phone. After shopping around a bit I had landed on the OnePlus 2. The specs for this phone were very impressive, especially considering how affordable the OnePlus 2 was in comparison to other flagship models.
One of the features that I found most impressive about this phone was the quality of the camera. At the time, I didn't know much about what the specs meant for the camera, but the demo photo gallery on their website was stunning.
With my new phone on its way to me in the mail, I decided to get in contact with a photographer friend of mine, Matt (@OVXRE). He had an impressive portfolio of “iphoneography” alongside other great photography. With the hopes of utilizing my newly acquired technology, I asked him to go out on a “cell phone photo shoot” with me.
We traveled from Fairmount Park, to City Hall, and back with many stops along the way. I had never gone out with the sole intention of taking photographs, and doing this allowed me to express myself creatively in a way I never had. When the day was done I took what I considered to be the best shots into Adobe Lightroom and did my first round of editing. I showed these photos to some other photographers I knew at the time, and received nothing but great feedback. I honestly impressed myself with the quality of work I was able to capture for it being my first time. This inspired me to get much more involved with photography and try to incorporate it in as much of my creative work as possible.
